Why Oil Cleansing Works

Your cleanser can't remove what this can.

Makeup, SPF, sebum, and environmental pollutants are all oil-soluble compounds. Water-based cleansers — no matter how strong — can't fully dissolve them. This is why even after a thorough wash, residual pigments, sunscreen polymers, and oxidized sebum remain in pores and on the skin surface.

Oil cleansing works on a simple chemistry principle: like dissolves like. Oil-based formulas bond instantly with oil-based impurities and lift them cleanly away from the skin — taking waterproof mascara, full-coverage foundation, and SPF with them — without stripping the skin's own lipid barrier in the process.

This formula uses five pure oils chosen specifically for their cleansing efficacy, skin compatibility, and non-comedogenic profile. No water to dilute them. No emulsifiers to compromise them. Just oil working at maximum potency.

The Double Cleanse.
Why it matters.

Oil cleansing alone removes the first layer — makeup, SPF, and oil-based buildup. But water-soluble impurities like sweat, environmental pollution, and water-based product residue require a second step. The two-step ritual ensures your skin is completely clean before you apply anything else — and that the toner, serums, and moisturizers that follow can penetrate at full efficacy.

Step 1 — Oil Cleanser

Dissolves all oil-based impurities: makeup, SPF, oxidized sebum, and pollutant particles bonded to skin oils.

Step 2 — Cold Process Soap Bar

Complete the cleanse with a Nobiesse Cold Process Soap Bar. Handcrafted in small batches, our bars remove water-soluble residue — sweat, environmental pollutants, and remaining product traces — while preserving your skin's natural moisture barrier. Unlike commercial soaps loaded with synthetic detergents, cold process bars retain their natural glycerin, leaving skin clean, soft, and balanced. Never stripped.

Result — Maximum Absorption

A fully clean surface means every product that follows — toner, serum, eye treatment, moisturizer — absorbs at its maximum efficacy.

Full Ingredient Breakdown

5 ingredients.Every one of them earned its place.

No water. No emulsifiers. No fragrance. No fillers. Just five oils chosen for what they actually do to skin.

Sweet Almond Oil

Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil

The cornerstone of the formula. Lightweight, non-comedogenic, and structurally similar to human sebum — meaning it dissolves oil-based impurities efficiently while mimicking and replenishing the skin's own lipid content. Rich in oleic and linoleic acid. Leaves skin noticeably softer, never greasy.

Medium Chain Triglycerides

MCT oil — derived from coconut

The primary solvent in the formula. MCT oil has an exceptionally small molecular structure that penetrates instantly, dissolving oil-based makeup and SPF on contact. Odorless, colorless, and one of the fastest-absorbing carrier oils available. Provides the formula its signature silky, non-sticky texture.

C13-15 Alkane

Biosynthetic lightweight emollient

A next-generation biosynthetic emollient that gives the formula its ultra-light, skin-like slip. Derived from sustainable plant sugars via fermentation — not petroleum. Exceptional at dissolving sebum and cosmetic pigments while leaving zero residue. Creates the clean, non-greasy finish after removal.

Jojoba Oil

Simmondsia chinensis seed oil

Technically a liquid wax — structurally the closest natural substance to human skin oil. Non-comedogenic, balances sebum production, and provides a nourishing layer that conditions the skin post-cleanse. Particularly effective at dissolving waterproof eyeliner and mascara around the delicate eye area.

Vitamin E

Tocopherol

A fat-soluble antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals generated by makeup pigments, UV exposure, and environmental pollutants on the skin's surface. Also stabilizes the other oils in the formula, extending shelf life naturally. A small concentration delivers significant antioxidant protection during the cleansing process.

APPLICATION

How to use it.

Use every evening as the first step in your skincare ritual. Takes 60–90 seconds. The difference it makes to everything that follows is not subtle.
1

Apply to completely dry skin

This is critical — water prevents the oil from bonding with oil-based impurities. Dispense 2–3 pumps directly onto dry face, including over closed eyes and lashes.

2

Massage for 30–60 seconds

Use circular motions across the face, paying extra attention to areas with heavy makeup, SPF, or congestion. The oil is actively dissolving and lifting impurities during this step — don't rush it.

3

For waterproof mascara — press and hold

Press a small amount of oil onto closed lashes and hold for 5–10 seconds before sweeping gently downward. The oil breaks down the polymer bonds in waterproof formulas without any tugging or pulling.

4

Wipe away or rinse, then continue

Remove with a warm damp cloth or rinse with water. Follow immediately with the Clarifying Natural Face Toner to complete the double cleanse and correct skin pH before applying serums and moisturizers.

Where it fits in your routine.

Step 1 ✦ Make-Up Remover — Natural Make-Up Remover. This step.
Step 2 Tone — Clarifying Natural Face Toner (completes the double cleanse + corrects pH)
Step 3 Eye Serum — Supernatural Eye Serum
Step 4 Eye Cream — Rejuvenating Eye Cream
Step 5 Moisturize — Crème Visage Swiss Edelweiss Face Cream
Pro tip: Use only in the evening. In the morning your skin doesn't carry the same oil-based load — a splash of water or just the toner is sufficient. Save the oil cleanse for when there's actually something to remove.
